Produced from a parcel of 110-year-old vines in this well-situated premier cru, this is a rich cuvée which also reflects the cut and stoniness typical of this appellation. Whereas a vigneron of Montagny might have left the wine in cuve, Pillot takes advantage of the concentration resulting from the old vines and ages it entirely in previously used barrels, bottling it after an 18-month élevage — the same length of aging as his more expensive offerings from the Côte de Beaune.

Jean-Marc joined his father Jean in 1985 at the then 5 hectares estate. Having assumed autonomy of the domaine in 1991, Jean-Marc began to bottle wines under his own name. And then, in 1996, he established his own négociant business so he could increase his own production by buying fruit from well-trusted sources. At the same time, he was slowly building up land holdings, so that now he farms about 12 hectares, plus a further five under the négoce label.

We ask to be notified in writing or by telephone within seven days of the date of delivery or the time you are aware that the product is faulty or damaged. Products and packaging should be kept until we inform you whether we want you to return them to us or not as we may undertake an analysis or return them to the producer.
