Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin (70cl)

Made with 8 organic botanicals. Fragrant, fresh and spicy gin. On the nose, it's floral at first, with rose notes coming to the fore, with lemon and lemongrass falling in line behind it. On the palate, the rosehips are sweet and pungent; the lemongrass is citrusy and herbal with menthol tones blending with anise/fennel character; the clove and spice is unmistakable. Incredibly smooth on its own or in a cocktail. Bottled at 42% abv.

Jacobus Alfons, or Bobby to his family and friends, loved Dutch Jenever but missed the taste of home. In 1950, Bobby started infusing his Jenever with familiar Indonesian spices and herbs, unknowingly creating his own gin and laying the foundation for Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin. Years later, Bobby’s grandson, Sebastiaan discovered an old Jenever bottle at his mother’s house. Inspired by the story of his grandfather, and the unique Indonesian recipe, he went to Schiedam - the city where gin was born. There he met with the seventh-generation master distiller of Herman Jansen Distillery and together they started working on creating a unique gin, blending the tradition of Schiedam Jenever with the best East Asian botanicals and spices. They replicated the same bottle shape that Sebastiaan discovered at this mother’s house, adding the traditional Indonesian IKAT design; bringing the old and the new together.
